The Thadou-Kuki Paojui (grammar and composition) a new book for classes IX and X standard has been released at the Kuki Inn, Old Lambulane today with former Ambassador of India S Kipgen (IFS) gracing the occasion as the chief guest.
As a part of the book release programme, the Thadou-Kuki Literature Society, Manipur honoured writers and review committee members of the said book through presentation of a memento each by the guest of honour Joint Director (i/c) of Tribal research institute, Imphal K Daimai, informed a Society release.
Stressing on developing language and literature considering the fact that language is a store house of indigenous culture and knowledge, K Daimai said bringing out the book on grammar and composition is indeed worth public appreciation.
In his presidential speech, chairman of the Literature society Paokhohang Haokip conveyed that the book will be introduced for students of classes IX and X from the 2008 academic session, the Society release informed while adding that general secretary of TKLS Khaimang Chongloi urged heads of institution concerned, parents and students to adopt the book in their course of syllabus/study with immediate effect to enable the students complete the course.
